Shedding Old Skin: Krewe of PhantAsia
New name, same faces (and then some).
The Krewe of PhantAsia (formerly known as Krewe of Mung Beans) made its debut during the Krewe Boheme parade on February 14th. The name might be new, but all the familiar faces are still here including the lion dancers.
Some quick notes:
The diner cart was a great addition. Coming back to the cart to refill on drinks was a vibe.
The Woodlawn Lion Dance team killed it (as always).
Parading down Canal Street was super cool.
The crowd was great and energetic.
Shout out to that one hotel that let us use their restrooms.
I think it was another good year for the krewe. It’ll be bigger next year for sure.
